Swiss watchmaker Movado has drawn on new colours and innovative technologies to expand several of its most popular and creative collections.
One of its most notable efforts includes the launch of the Sapphire Synergy Chronograph, a quartz timepiece which features the brand's dot motif in new ways. The futuristic design showcases flat sapphire crystal that flows to the edge of the 42mm black PVD finished stainless steel case, creating a fluid unbroken surface.
Beneath the crystal, 12 white dots punctuate the bezel, marking the hours, while the black lacquer dial is equally well thought-out, featuring, on two levels, a silver toned concave dot at 12 o'clock. Tipped or finished in matte white, the six hands provide a contrast to the blackness of the dial.
Movado has also extended its Master Black-Out Chronograph with the launch of a self-winding model. Available in solid stainless steel, the 45mm tonneau-shaped case houses a black sapphire crystal gear edge bezel and architectural hinge style lugs detailed by two round black PVD pushers and a gear edge screw-down crown. There has been a new addition to the Red Label Museum Calendomatic Series, too. The stainless steel design, aimed at uniting the simplicity of its trademark dial which features special date animation, includes dauphine hands, red lettering and a smooth black lacquer dial with an unusual rotating date ring and a new small seconds subdial.
The brand is equally enthusiastic about the creation of its one-of-a-kind timepieces. It has drawn inspiration from the classic 1970 Datron self-winding chronograph to add a trio of striking new special-edition automatic chronographs. The models feature an elegant 40mm tonneau-shaped case with two chronograph pushers crafted in smooth and satin-finished 18kt rose gold.
The two-tone dial, in black or anthracite grey with lighter silver soleil eyes, or in reverse - silver soleil with darker grey eyes - is protected by curved sapphire crystal. All three limited versions show impeccable detail with rose gold toned hands, applied hour markers, a printed minute index and a contrasting round date aperture at 12 o'clock.
