Student hostel sign set alight

A sign in a student hostel of Shaw College at Chinese University was set on fire yesterday morning. No one was injured but the Fire Services Department said the incident at Kuo Mou Hall was suspicious. Some students at the hostel recently demanded that the university allow students of both sexes to stay in the same room overnight, but a university spokeswoman said it was not known if this was related to the fire. An investigation is under way.
