Fashion designer Tory Burch to celebrate new store with Four Seasons f?te

Thanks to Hong Kong girls' obsession with chic and comfy shoes, business has been sweet for New York fashion designer Tory Burch. She's in town this week to open her second boutique here - in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui - only six months after opening her first store in Central's IFC Mall.

To raise a glass of bubbly for the occasion, Burch will be hosting a party cum fashion presentation at the Four Seasons hotel's grand ballroom on Friday.

'I think women in Asia appreciate our collection [because it] hits the right balance of a designer's aesthetic and an accessible price.' Burch said, adding that there would be more stores to come.

The designer said Hong Kong was one of her favourite cities. She's most looking forward to visiting shops, meeting the tai tais, and checking out the galleries in SoHo and also Chi Lin Nunnery in Kowloon.

'I wish we were there for longer,' she said by e-mail.

Since she'll be in Hong Kong during our least favourite time of year - sticky and steamy weather - we asked Burch for some styling advice on staying cool in summer.
