Is it necessary for Hong Kong to have the 'Symphony of Lights' every night?

The Symphony of Lights is a nightly synchronised light, laser and music show which includes buildings on both sides of the Victoria Harbour.
This multimedia display is recognised as the world's 'largest permanent light-and-sound show' by the Guinness World Records.
It is one of Hong Kong's biggest attractions and is popular among tourists. But it is definitely not necessary to have this show every night. It involves 44 buildings in both Kowloon and on Hong Kong Island. One can imagine how much electricity is used up producing such a spectacular light show. It is definitely a waste of energy to have the show every night.
It totally goes against the trend of creating a greener city. To have such a non-eco-friendly show running every day is not good for our city's image.
In addition to the high energy consumption, the show might not have a real impact on attracting tourists. Forbes magazine referred to the show as being part of the Lunar New Year celebrations.
