King On Earth finally delivered a win for trainer Andy Leung Ting-wah and jockey Brett Doyle yesterday, rewarding the pair's persistence with the galloper who has tried it all in his 23-career starts to date. Leung put the blinkers on for the first time at four-year-old's prior outing and tried him over the minimum 1,000-metre trip at Happy Valley, but swiftly removed the shades this time around and landed the prize over 1,400 metres in the Kowloon Cricket Club Centenary Cup, beating outsider Sweetie Music. 'King On Earth has been run at many distances, but I think 1,400 metres at Sha Tin is his best,' Leung said. 'With the blinkers on last time he got too excited and spent his energy too easily. He was much better today with them removed. He can race well at both Happy Valley and Sha Tin, which is a big advantage for a horse like him,' he added.
