Photo books out now as Angelababy changes focus

Model-turned-actress Angelababy Yeung Wing (pictured) has been off the radar of local media for a while because she has been busy filming in Beijing.

The beauty recently finished shooting Wing Shya's Love in Space and was back in town on Saturday to attend fashion designer Barney Cheng's charity gala dinner in aid of the Crossroads Foundation. The event took place at the new Ritz-Carlton hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Yeung, who used to be a teenage model, was rubbing shoulders with show business A-listers such as TVB actress Bernice Liu Bik-yee, singer Vivian Chow Wai-man, and models Mandy Lieu and Amanda Strang.

Although she has previously published four photo books, she said she would not join the army of models stripping down to their bikinis this summer and posing for a camera.

'I wouldn't say that I've reached a plateau, it's just that I now have a different career focus,' she said. 'I think when you have a chance, you need to seize it. I've changed direction and I'd like to become a serious actress.'

Besides, Yeung said, she didn't have time to work on any more photo books because she was too busy with film projects.
