Custom-made design ideas take off

If you've scoured Hong Kong's furniture shops and still can't find a thing to fit that oddly shaped corner of your living room, try having something custom made.

Clifton Leung, of Clifton Leung Design Workshop, says many clients commission pieces that are made to fit their unique needs or tastes.

One of the most commonly commissioned items is a sofa for the living area, Leung says.

But problems can arise when people have difficulty imagining the finished product.

'I have seen people redoing their sofa because the outcome is not what they thought it would be,' he says.

Leung advises that the best way of ensuring you get what you envision is to provide detailed drawings and measurements, plus a photograph of a similar product.
