Hilary Tsui Ho-ying has a loud and proud slogan emblazoned across a T-shirt for the first full apparel collection she has designed for local fashion house izzue - a statement that's catchy and close to her heart.

And, for the benefit of those who've only heard of her through the gossip magazines, she was blurting it out loudly at the launch party. 'I'm not a label whore.'

The former actress added: 'I don't just buy designer brands. I avoid wearing brand names from head to toe. It's the mix and match that works best.'

The party at The Space on Wednesday attracted a host of local hipsters, mostly sporting Tsui-esque outfits, such as leopard print harem pants, cut-out striped dresses, leather wedges and retro sunglasses.

Clothes from Tsui's collection were displayed like art installations. Her favourite exotic animal print wallpaper covered the front door.

Tsui's stylish friends - actress Josie Ho Chiu-yee, Helen To Yu-fung - wearing that T-shirt - and Yumiko Cheng Hei-yee - lent her plenty of star power and partied up a storm.
