3rd Asia-Pacific Regional Conference on Service-Learning - Make A Difference: Impacts of Service-Learning Lingnan University, June 8-11
Lingnan University will host the 'Make A Difference: Impacts of Service-Learning' conference next month, providing a platform for educators, students, government officials and service providers around the world to exchange ideas on the development and role of service-learning - a teaching and learning strategy that combines rigorous academic study with voluntary community service.
Professor Alfred Chan, director of the office of service-learning at Lingnan, says learning through serving others helps promote students' personal growth and fosters in them a lifelong commitment to service, research and leadership. 'Service-learning is about finding the tender moments in one's life, being touched by the practical life experiences of the service targets and inspired to take action in the community,' he says.
