Television boss looks for a sharper image

WITH the countdown started for the December 1 launch of his China Entertainment Television (CETV) satellite station, Robert Chua has beamed on board an image consultant.

Joining CETV is Los Angeles (where else?) based David Chau, who is currently image consultant to such showbiz celebs as Smokey Robinson, Morgan Fairchild, Linda Gray and the Pointer Sisters.

Surprise, surprise, he's even advised on image to those arbiters of style Karl Lagerfeld and Gianni Versace.

We await to hear with interest what image-enhancing plans he has for CETV, especially if it involves Chua.

For we have become so attuned to Chua's bespectacled mad scientist look that it will be a crying shame if the TV mogul is asked to change his image.

Incidentally, Chua will today be addressing the China Advertising Conference at the Convention Centre, where he will be socking 'em with his 'no sex, no violence, no news' programming philosophy.
