More and more devices now support images that come 3D. The problem is you need a screen that supports 3D pictures, which are actually two different images - for the left and right eyes of the viewer - interlaced to give the appearance of three dimensions.
While 3D displays and TVs are relatively common, Acer's HN274H is one of the biggest 3D-enabled computer screens, at 27 inches, to hit the market.
In addition, it is the first commercial display to support the different versions of 3D technology, such as frame sequential stereo 3D and stereoscopic 3D.
While 3D works by blending two different images, that's not necessarily the way software does it.
With some applications, the two images are displayed at the same time using half the pixels on the display. With others, the two images are displayed at full resolution, but one after another - but done so fast that it appears to be the same image. The HN274H supports both versions.
Other impressive features include the screen's 3 x HDMI port. That means you can plug in your PC, your games console and your digital camera at the same time, instead of having to continuously swap around devices. The screen also comes with built-in speakers.
