Hipsters embrace their dark side with new trend for wearing shades at night
A micro trend that's been brewing recently on the party scene is local hipsters' love of shades. Some can't live without them - even after sunset.
Trend-setter Hilary Tsui Ho-ying was seen sporting shades at night last month at the launch of her clothing collection for local fashion house izzue, and then as a guest of honour at the opening of Clot co-founder Kevin Poon's pop-up eyewear store in collaboration with LensCrafters.
Following suit were her stylish close friends Wyman Wong Wai-man, Josie Ho Chiu-yee and Helen To Yu-fung.
DJ Miss Yellow and actor-singer Kelvin Kwan Chor-yiu were also seen donning cool sunglasses the night they showed up at a Nixon watch launch, even though they weren't booked to plug the accessories.
Whether they're in vogue or not, the stars are certainly taking a bit of a risk wearing those dark lenses in the evening. Makes you wonder if they're wearing special night-vision shades, or are the stars just too bright at night?
