LOCAL students and their parents recently had the opportunity to gain first-hand information about education in South Australia at an exhibition. Major South Australian public and private educational institutions were represented at the fair, which was officially opened by the South Australian Minister for Industry, Manufacturing, Small Business and Regional Development, Mr John Olsen. Representatives explained the different courses and degree options at secondary as well as tertiary levels and advised prospective students on their choices. 'South Australia is well-placed to provide educational service in all areas because it has a reputation for innovation. This reputation is the result of the excellent training and research carried out in the state's various educational institutions,' said Mr Olsen. 'Some of them already have close ties with Hong Kong, but this exhibition is the first to give a comprehensive overview of South Australia' prowess in delivering education services.' In addition to academic excellence, Mr Olsen said the state offered a culturally diverse and inexpensive environment to overseas students. 'South Australia and its capital city, Adelaide, offer a very stimulating learning environment. Students have access to a full selection of cultural and sporting activities, all of which are affordable. 'More importantly, qualifications from South Australian educational institutions are accepted anywhere in the world,' Mr Olsen said.
