De Grisogono - Meccanico dG N09

Created by the brand's founder, Fawaz Gruosi, the collection's double analogue and digital mechanical display aims to set a new benchmark in ultramodern design. Fitted with a matt-black alligator strap, this addition to the line features a striking contrast between the white hour markers and the matt-black titanium case. The analogue display of hours and minutes occupies the top half of the face, while the mechanical digital display at the bottom corresponds to a second time zone. As well as allowing a glimpse of the metallic components, its semi-transparent dial is there to give an edgy look to the timepiece - to any wearer who has HK$2.9 million to HK$3 million to spend.

Harry Winston - Opus Eleven

Watching the hour change on this eleventh Opus (HK$2.05 million) is like enjoying a fairground Waltzer ride. The watch features three overlapping cylinders mounted on three levels. The hour is displayed in the main circle, which houses four satellites mounted on a rotating platform, each with three pairs of vertically revolving placards that erupt into chaos on the hour before assembling into the numeral showing the time in the middle. The two pavilions that flank the main circle reveal the minutes in digits and the big titanium balance-wheel. Only 111 pieces have been produced.

Also known as The Hammerhead, this is the brand's first all-steel creation. With a patented carousel, the time is displayed by the telescopic minute hands operating inside three orbiting and revolving hour 'satellites', which pop out to indicate the time and contract to fit inside the case. The 'S' of this latest model stands for 'Stripe', a nod to the supplicated, three-dimensional vertical lines running along its dial. Featuring a day/night indicator and moon-phase display, the case comes in polished steel and titanium (HK$1.24 million) or ALTiN (aluminium titanium nitride) steel and titanium with black coating (HK$1.28 million).
