Primary Years Programme (PYP)
For ages 3-12: Teachers design units of inquiry based on six themes, such as identity, where we are in place and time, how we express and organise ourselves, how the world works and sharing the planet. School-based assessment strategies and feedback techniques are used, including writing samples, benchmarks and continuums.
Middle Years Programme (MYP)
For ages 11-16: Students are required to study their mother tongue, a second language, humanities, sciences, mathematics, arts, physical education and technology. In the final year, they must do a personal project to demonstrate the understandings and skills they have developed. Students are assessed at school, with IB examiners checking the process.
IB Diploma Programme (IBDP)
For ages 16-19: Students are required to take six subjects and must complete an extended essay and a theory of knowledge course. They should also participate in the creativity, action and service programme. Written exams will be marked by IB examiners. The highest mark is 45 points, with 24 being the minimum for the diploma award.
