An increasing number of young people are becoming interested in making digital films, whether they are keen on scriptwriting, acting, shooting, video editing or post-production.
A workshop is offering amateur filmmakers the chance to put their ideas into practice with basic knowledge and skills taught in just a few days.
'Students with little or no experience can enjoy the process, as the programme is designed for beginners. The purpose is to teach students how to tell a story with advanced digital equipment,' Wong says.
The two-day workshop has an intensive schedule. On the morning of the first day, students learn the fundamental principles and techniques, and then form groups of three or four to come up with a story and shoot a short film with a simple camcorder in the afternoon. The second day is allotted to video editing.
With a maximum of eight students, aged at least 15, courses will run on the first weekends of next month and August at the school's studio in Chai Wan. All equipment is provided, the programme is conducted in English, or Cantonese by request, and costs HK$1,800.
