Now that his boot camp for adults is up and running, Davide Butson-Fiori, founder of the outdoor group circuit-training programme Circuit25, wants to get children away from their computers and gaming consoles and up on their feet.

The newly launched Circuit25 Family programme welcomes parents and up to three children to exercise together through play-based team games, while the Circuit25 Family group session caters to up to three families of five members each.

'We have relay races where partners must do a number of different interval relays ... for instance, running to the first cone, hopping to the next, crawling to the finish line and tagging their partner,' Butson-Fiori said.

'Another game involves each person getting a dozen coloured balls to move from one position to another. The first to move them all is rewarded with a much-deserved rest, while the others have to do jumping jacks or another exercise determined by the trainer.'

Butson-Fiori said the games improved muscles and helped maintain a healthy weight. 'Children are growing and need to make sure they are strengthening muscles and creating a good foundation for proper posture and a well-balanced fitness level,' he said.
