Sony HDR-TD10E
Who says you need a 3-D television or 3-D glasses to have a 3-D camcorder? This 'Double Full HD' 3-D Handycam camcorder (HK$15,980) has an integrated dual-lens recording system, which yields 3-D content that can be played back on any 3-D-capable high-definition television and without glasses on its flip-out 3.5-inch, 3-D LCD touch screen. Its 10x optical zoom is best in class, and an image stabilisation function reduces the effects of hand shake caused by zooming or walking. With 64GB of flash memory, this Handycam weighs 645 grams. It can also create 2-D footage that can be played back on non-3-D displays.
JVC GS-TD1
This full-HD 3-D camcorder shares the dual-lens recording system and convenient playback function of the Sony model. Priced at HK$14,980, it is also capable of capturing 3-D photographs. It guarantees clear recordings even in dim light or at night. The 3-D footage is accompanied by 3-D sound effects, courtesy of JVC's 'Biphonic' technology. Other amusing add-ons include 'Face Detection', 'Smile Meter' and 'Smile Shoot' functions as well as a time-lapse recording mode.
Panasonic HDC-TMT750
This device supports full-high-definition 2-D recording and, using its 3-D conversion lens, can also create 3-D footage. It boasts improved noise-reduction technology compared with the 700 series. Alone, the camcorder weighs 380 grams; adding the 3-D conversion lens takes it to 575 grams. It'll cost you HK$12,800 to take it home, where you'll need to have 3-D glasses and a television capable of the old side-by-side method of 3-D playback.
