Eyes work in different ways, letting some animals see what people can only imagine. An owl's eyes are located together in the front of its face, allowing excellent depth of perception when hunting. A membrane protects the eyes of hippos and crocodiles from debris underwater. Iguanas and zebras have excellent vision and can see colours. These Agence France-Presse photos are from zoos in Cali and Medellin, Colombia, and Amsterdam.
