Hundreds of clowns this week made their annual pilgrimage to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe to pay homage to Mexico's patron saint. Decked out in grease paint and colourful clothes, the clowns each year show their gratitude to the Virgin of Guadalupe for helping them find work, in a tradition that began around 30 years ago. The basilica, in Mexico City, also happens to be the world's most visited Catholic shrine, attracting more than six million worshippers each year.
