Whether it's choosing rings or finding the perfect venue, planning a wedding can be a daunting task. The Island Shangri-La aims to make it easier on couples by bringing together a range of wedding-related experts at their Signature Weddings bridal fair. On Sunday, from noon to 7pm in the hotel's fifth-floor Island Ballroom, the fair features more than 20 companies offering services from hair and make-up to event planning and photography. Exhibitors include Miramar Travel, Lisa B Photography, Plus One Weddings, Links of London, Tiara Wedding and Event Planning, and MODE Tuxedo. Staff from each company will be on hand to discuss their products and services. Besides mingling with experts, guests can take in a variety of demonstrations and fashion shows. The programme begins with a make-up and hair styling demonstration by Cle de Peau Beaute and Hair Culture, between 2.30 and 3pm, followed by a bridal fashion and evening gown show by Central Weddings and Occasions, and Vivian Luk Atelier, between 3.30 and 4pm. A wedding ceremony demonstration will be held by An Oath Celebrant Service, between 4.30 and 4.40pm at the 39th-floor Library, and the programme concludes with a Perrier-Jouet Champagne tasting, between 4.40 and 5.40pm in the Atrium, also on the 39th floor. The fair is also an opportunity to check out the Island Shangri-La's facilities and Signature Weddings packages. Couples can choose between Western and Chinese themes, in settings such as the spacious ballroom or the more intimate, wood-panelled Atrium or Library. The hotel's event planners can assist with flowers, decorations and menus, all tailor-made to each couple's taste and budget. Couples who choose the hotel for their wedding could win a honeymoon at a Shangri-La resort in the Maldives, Thailand, Australia and the mainland.
