Bevy of celebrities rev up for Pixar premiere of 'Cars 2'
The premiere of the latest Disney Pixar animation, Cars 2, last week attracted a bevy of celebrities to Harbour City mall, with Canto-pop singer Mag Lam Yan-tung being joined by radio-host-singers Jan Lamb Hoi-fong, Eric Kot Man-fai and actor Law Ka-ying - all voice-over actors for the Chinese film version - turning up.
Although Lam, the winner of TVB's talent show The Voice, has yet to launch a debut album, she has become a media darling, with plenty of local advertisers seeking her out, and also has been booked for several commercial events.
'I have been blessed. I think I have saved enough for the down payment for an apartment but it is too early for me to invest in property,' she said.
The fresh-faced idol has a bigger plan. 'The showbusiness job comes with a price too. I hope I can save enough money so I don't have to worry in the future when times aren't so good. I don't want to be a burden to my family when I don't have so many jobs.'
Lam finished the recording for her breakout album, which is scheduled for public release later this month.
By the sounds of it, singing isn't her sole talent. She seems quite adept at financial planning too.
