Cathay Pacific has confirmed that a female flight attendant photographed performing a sex act on an expatriate man was a member of its cabin crew.
But the airline denied a claim made by a local newspaper that the man was the pilot of a flight from Hong Kong to Indonesia on August 8.
Citing privacy laws, a spokesman for Cathay refused to disclose further information.
But a spokesman said: 'We are taking the matter very seriously. We are conducting a thorough investigation. At this point we have identified a number of crew who we believe may be able to assist us to gather the full facts and circumstances of the case.'
The Cathay investigation has so far found no indication that the incident occurred on a flight.
'We are in close liaison with the Civil Aviation Department about the matter and will keep them informed about the progress of our investigation,' the spokesman said.
