New aircraft carrier sets sail for tests

China's first aircraft carrier set sail for tests at sea. An aircraft carrier is a very big warship that can act as an airport for war planes. Planes use a lot of fuel and so they cannot fly for very long distances. With an airport at sea they can reach much further.

The carrier was bought from Russia and refitted by China.
