If you thought colour blocking was just for the summer, think again. Designers resurrected their favourite looks for autumn, but using more graphic and artistic techniques that pay homage to the swinging 1960s. The catwalks were awash with colourful yet bold squares and other shapes, as spotted on Prada's must-have checked dresses and coats (right). It's all about modern geometry as dark silhouettes are given a pop of colour to lighten those dreary winter days. It's not just about brights, either: white and other neutral colours are used for a cool contrast. Shoes: These sculptural wedges (HK$10,800) by Pierre Hardy are modern and retro at the same time. They feature curved blocks of green and blue suede against black, accented by gold piping for a luxe look. Bags: For something work appropriate, try Loewe's Amazona tote (HK$21,800), which is given a contemporary update with accents of burgundy and camel. Jewellery: Stack chunky bracelets or cuffs in various colours for a mod look. This look is also about contrasting textures. Fendi's two-tone Chameleon bracelets (HK$4,080) are made from stingray and are accented with a large stone. Cuffs are also available.
