Gears of War 3 (game)
Gamers got a rare treat on Wednesday night as Jim Brown, Lead Level Designer of Epic Games, came to Hong Kong to give local players a preview of the soon-to-be-released Gears of War 3.
The venue was packed with GOW fans clamouring to get a look at Brown's first-hand demonstration of all the new features.
Brown told fans that the third game will bring the story to a conclusion and tie up any loose ends, and will include elements from the novels and comic books. He also told gamers that this will be the longest GOW game and players can look forward to a lot of playing hours.
In the new game, the player fights on as Marcus Fenix, the grizzled war hero and leader of Delta Squad. Eighteen months after the fall of the last human city in Gears of War 2, the war against the Locust rages on, but a new enemy has emerged. Deep beneath the surface, a fearsome new threat, the Lambent, is infecting the planet from within. Time is running out for Marcus and his comrades as they make one last push that will ultimately decide the fate of humanity.
A collector's limited-edition version includes an Octus service medal, the initial Hammer of Dawn schematic, Fenix family mementos and a fabric COG flag. The standard version has a suggested retail price of HK$329.
Gears of War 3 is scheduled to launch on September 20.
