Black-rimmed glasses, check shirt and a guitar in hand. That is his trademark look and if you are a fan of Chinese R&B and soul music, you probably know who I'm talking about. Yes, it's local singer-songwriter Khalil Fong Tai-tung, who just wrapped up a series of concerts at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre.
He sang most of the songs from his latest album 15, including the ballad Because of You, the upbeat Take Me, and the cheerful Gotta Make a Change. He also delivered favourites from past albums like Love, Love, Love, Love Song, and Singalongsong.
For one of the songs, he performed playing the guitar and harmonica simultaneously. Needless to say, the audience was in awe.
And there were surprises in store, too.
Actress Fiona Sit Hoi-kei joined Fong on stage for the duet Four People Ride.
She joked about Fong's intensive preparations for the concert. 'When I called him in the afternoon, he said he was practising humming. When I called him again later, he said he was playing guitar.
'When I called him at midnight, he told me he needed to rest up for tomorrow's practice.'
