This month, Ayumi Hamasaki fans have two chances to experience the Japanese diva's majesty, with her new 3D concert movie and a photo exhibition. Over the next month, MCL cinemas will be showing Ayumi Hamasaki Rock 'n' Roll Circus Tour Final - 7 Days Special; and at the new I.T. store in Causeway Bay, a number of photos of the diminutive star taken by Singaporean fashion photographer Leslie Kee will be on display at the Love & Hope + Five exhibition. Last weekend, Hamasaki was in Hong Kong to help promote both events. Arriving at Chep Lap Kok airport, the Japanese songstress was nearly mobbed by a hoard of her fans and a small army of local photographers. Making her way to Terminal Two, the diva made a special appearance at the MCL 4D cinema for the special gala premiere of the new film. Hardcore fans paid HK$380 to see the film and catch a glimpse of their idol. In the evening, Ayumi attended the cocktail reception for the exhibition, which features photos of her, as well as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne, China's celebrated actress Zhou Xun and supermodel Du Juan, J-pop singer Namie Amuro and Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi, and Hong Kong favourites, singer Faye Wong and model Angelababy. The exhibition is being held to promote the Love & Hope + Five photo book, published to raise funds for Japanese earthquake charities. The exhibition is open to the public at 1, Hysan Avenue, until September 18. The book (HK$500) is available exclusively at the store; only 1,000 are on sale in Hong Kong.
