After breaking through for a long-awaited maiden win, trainer David Hall believes Master Key can now handle a step up in grade. Alvin Ng Ka-chun's generous 10-pound claim was telling as he partnered the gelding to victory in a Class Four handicap (1,400m). 'He's a bit flexible now and I think he can win in Class Three,' Hall said. 'And the great thing now is that he has performed well at Happy Valley, he ran honestly there last season for me, so we've got the option of going on either track.' It was Master Key's first win in 23 starts, but Hall said the six-year-old had been knocking on the door. 'He was running very consistently at the end of last season,' he said.
