Taiwan has expanded its Meet Taiwan Card campaign and plans to issue 6,000 to 7,000  cards to delegates  at international conferences until November 15.
The card will provide services and discounts near the conference halls for shopping, dining, lodging, transport, entertainment  and free Wi-fi for 24 hours. Taiwan's MICE Project Office  expects the cards to generate NT$1 billion (HK$266.1 million) in income. 
MICE Project Office statistics suggest the average daily spending of foreign MICE visitors is  NT$6,920, with the average duration of conventions and exhibitions being 3.3 days. Accommodation accounts for 42 per cent of the expenditure of  visitors, followed by shopping (34), restaurants (11),  transport (7) and recreation (3).
