I REFER to Mr Stewart Aldcroft's letter to the South China Morning Post, on October 21, regarding a large hole in the ground at the junction of Shouson Hill Road and Shouson Hill Road East. The aforesaid 'hole' is for the water-testing of the newly laid watermain along Shouson Hill Road. This main has been laid by the Drainage Services Department for the Water Supplies Department. The contractor has experienced some technical problems in the testing of the main and this has delayed the reinstatement of the hole. It is anticipated that the problem can be resolved in one week's time after which the road will be reinstated. We apologise to Mr Aldcroft for any inconvenience caused.
