Glam Slam in Macau
Yesterday marked the opening of Glam Slam 2011, a three-day fashion extravaganza bringing under the roof of City of Dreams in Macau seven top Asian designers to showcase the latest developments in Asian high fashion and haute couture designs.
Claiming to be the first of its kind, and considered an important milestone for the Macau fashion scene, Glam Slam 2011 features creations by designers Barney Cheng, Vivian Luk and William Tang from Hong Kong, Francis Cheong from Singapore, Jasper Huang from Taiwan, Lee Khoon Hooi from Malaysia and Qi Gang from the mainland.
Lane Crawford back with a bang
The extended and redesigned Lane Crawford store on Canton Road reopened its doors on Monday. By far the largest Lane Crawford store, at 100,000 sq ft, the four-level store in Harbour City now houses Asia's first and largest women's shoes and accessories department. Called The Shoe Library, it was created by The Pedder Group and interior designer Andre Fu. The floor dedicated to designer womenswear has expanded to 20,000 sq ft, while the cosmetics department features more than 50 high-end international brands.
The fashion retailer also launched its e-commerce business this month - paving the way for expansion into Greater China - at lanecrawford.com, which now features an edit of women's ready-to-wear and shoes and accessories. Menswear, cosmetics and home and lifestyle will be available online in a phased roll-out.
