Man tells of forex scam
A MAN yesterday told police he had been conned out of $6 million by three men during a foreign exchange deal.
He said that during the deal the men promised to deposit $6 million into his account and he was to give seven million yuan (HK$6.3 million) to their associates in China the next day. He said the men showed him a bankbook indicating that $6 million had been deposited into his account, and he then instructed his friends in China to pay the yuan. But when the victim went to the bank yesterday he was told the cheque had bounced.
