Benson proves to be top Moon Trekker

Darren Benson of Champion System Adventure Team was the overall winner of the third annual Moon Trekker, which finished on Lantau Peak on Friday night. About 1,000 runners took part in one of Hong Kong's most unusual races, with Benson clocking four hours, 17 minutes and 31 seconds for the 'Sunrise' 40km race. Teammate Ryan Blair smashed Michael Maddess' record in the 'Moonlit' 25km race by setting a new time of 3:4:21, 19 minutes quicker than last year's record. Organisers expected to raise more than HK$540,000 for the Room To Read charity.
