A diverse range of companies will display a wide range of optical products at the fair, from the mass market to the exclusive designer, and all points in between. Rem Eyewear Asia Booth No 1B-E11 Rem Eyewear Asia is one of the 600 plus exhibitors at this year's fair. Daniel Lai at Rem says a highlight of its display will be the Converse Optical Frames and Sunglasses. 'The Converse eyewear collection showcases its take on conventional eyewear, taking inspiration from the brand's rich heritage,' Lai says. 'It is designed for originals and allows trendsetters of all ages to express their individuality through creative styles.' On display will be the spectacle frames in the Converse Heritage Optical range, which blends timeless old-school designs augmented by vintage elements with a modern aesthetic, and the new Converse Optical collection, featuring bright colours and independent style. In terms of sunglasses, Rem will launch the Converse Star Chevron range, featuring the ubiquitous new Star Chevron logo on durable TR-90 material, coated in soft-touch finish and outfitted with polarised lenses, and the oversized, lightweight Converse Backstage designs specially created for aviator lovers. Rem has attended the Optical Fair three times and says that the fair is of great benefit to its business. 'There are a lot of buyers coming from all over the world,' Lai says. 'We make good new contacts and get sales from new customers.' I-Sense Optics Booth No 1B-D20 I-Sense Optics, also based in Hong Kong, is another exhibitor at the fair. The company will be displaying metal and acetate frames. 'Most of the frames are made from Italian materials,' says Florence Lo, of I-Sense Optics. 'We have been exhibiting at the Optical Fair since 2001 and this is the first time we will be exhibiting at the Brand Name Gallery. We think the Hong Kong Optical Fair is a good meeting point to present our collections and meet our clients [from] around the world every year.' Wing Fung Optical International Booth No 1B-D16 Wing Fung Optical International believes there is an increasing importance on brand marketing at the retail level, and thus it has acquired the regional distribution licence of renowned brands such as Guy Laroche, Raen and Cosmopolitan.
