A prominent Philippine politician who is believed to have fathered at least 80 children buried one of them yesterday, his favourite son, as police charged two others with ordering the killing.
Ramgen Revilla, the 23-year-old son of former senator Ramon Revilla Sr, was shot once and stabbed 15 times late on Friday in his home by two men wearing ski hats and Halloween masks. The young actor's girlfriend - actress Janelle Manahan, 22 - was stabbed twice and shot in the jaw. She is recovering in hospital.
The victim's half-brother, current senator Ramon 'Bong' Revilla Jr, put up a 500,000 peso (HK$90,883) bounty, saying: 'I do not know anyone who is angry at Ramgen.'
But the details of Revilla Sr's tangled family web were laid bare when police charged the victim's full brother and sister, Ramon Joseph Revilla, 18, and Romona Revilla, 20, with murder and attempted murder. The victim and the accused share the same mother, a favoured mistress who bore Revilla Sr six other children.
Five unrelated suspects have been charged with involvement.
Senator 'Bong' Revilla said: 'Our family is as shocked as everyone. We were stunned by the results of the police investigation ... implicating my half-brother [Ramon] Joseph.'
