The art of shaving has a long history, and although many traditional makers of shaving products are stuck in their tired, tried-and-tested methods, one new brand is hoping to (literally) change the face of the modern man.
TwinLuxe is a shaving-skincare specialist - a line focused mostly on the instruments used for your daily shear and accompanying products - but it aims to deliver more than just a morning routine.
It all started just over a year ago, when Taiwanese identical twins Anthony and Hubert Tsai were working day jobs in New York as Wall Street equity traders. They'd wake up every morning in their downtown abodes, stumble half-awake to the bathroom and face a problem shared by many men: dry skin.
'I always liked to buy the best - nice clothes, nice cars,' says Hubert Tsai. 'I bought New York's best skincare products, but they didn't work for me. At times, they'd destroy my skin, and using my wife's products made my face too greasy. So I had this idea of creating something that I'd want to use myself: something lightweight that absorbed easily and was long-lasting.'
Anthony shared the same sentiment - as twins often do - and TwinLuxe was born.
'As an equity trader, it's all about performance - a piece of paper will say you have to return 10 per cent. People don't care about how you get there; you just have to get there,' Hubert says.
