THE Urban and Regional Councils jointly launched a publicity drive recently to recruit student health inspectors and Health Inspector IIs until December 12. 'Tertiary graduates with a higher diploma in Applied Science awarded by the City Polytechnic of Hong Kong or equivalent qualification in Environmental Health and/or Food Science may apply for Health Inspector II with a salary of $14,220,' a spokesman for the Urban Services Department said. 'Secondary school-leavers with five passes in the HKCEE and Grade C in English Language (Syllabus B), Mathematics or Additional Mathematics or Technical Drawings, and Physics or Chemistry or Biology, may apply for the posts of student health inspectors,' he added. A student health inspector will undergo a 21/2-year professional training and receive a salary of $7,450 - $8,460 during the training period.
