Star power on hand as new car showroom hits road in Causeway Bay
The newly revamped Leighton Centre in Causeway Bay now houses an array of fashion boutiques, lifestyle shops and even a car showroom.
Italian car brand Fiat and Abarth opened its concept showroom in the building on Friday, which means that not only does the 3,000 sq ft space showcase the latest car models, there is also an accessories corner and in-store cafe.
Canto-pop diva Joey Yung Cho-yee and music producer Mark Lui Chung-tak provided the star power for the event. Yung, who wore a glittering one-piece and shocking-pink heels with matching tights, had her eyes on the dinky Abarth 500 Assetto Corse. The beauty, who is more used to high-performance supercars, said she'd love to have one of the cute little city cars.
A serious car lover, Yung said her priority was safety and she would never drink and drive. 'If I know I'm going to have some wine at dinner, I won't drive,' she said. 'It isn't worth it. I sometimes feel that [the police] can be stricter with celebrities so they can set an example.
'There was one time when I had to drive to my own birthday party. I called a friend to drive me home,' she said.
Yung might be the perfect road-safety ambassador, if she switches from killer heels to driving in flats.
