The bronze busts of local personalities surely turned a few heads on Thursday night at the Crown Wine Cellars as British sculptor Bryan Ellery opened his Face to Face exhibition.

Fascinated by facial features and expressions, Ellery has created bust sculptures featuring some of Hong Kong's elite, including David Tang, George Chao and Sally Thompson.

Organised by Jane Chao-Lee's Galerie Huit and the Crown Wine Cellars, the cocktail event saw an impressive turnout.

Ellery, who flew in from Brighton for the party, was approached by a few guests, including Chao's husband Dominique Lee, who commissioned him to make a bust for them.

It seems as though a sketch at a party no longer satisfies some socialites, but a personalised bronze sculpture practically screams aristocracy.
