Soundbite 'As captain of the school team this year, I was ready to lead my players to a top-three finish in the Tuen Mun District Inter-school Football Competition. But in the round of 16 match against CCC Hoh Fuk Tong College, we missed many scoring opportunities and our rivals scored in the 90th minute to win 2-1,' Jerry says. 'We found it hard to accept the defeat. We cried after the referee blew the final whistle. 'There are many opportunities for our youth team players outside Kwai Tsing, but we don't want to leave because of the tremendous spirit within our squad. We also have a caring coach in Tiffany Lee, who is always concerned about our future in sports and academic fields. 'I recently had a lengthy conversation with her, and her words inspired me to face up to the future challenges on and off the pitch, such as upcoming mock tests and public exams. 'After our early exit from the inter-school competition, I turned my attention to club matches. Kwai Tsing are the title favourites in the Henderson Youth League this year. We are playing well, but we are worried because the final-round matches may clash with the public exams. Many players will take their A-level and HKDSE exams in March and April. But we don't want to think about that right now. We want to win our upcoming matches.' From his coach 'Jerry is dedicated to the sport. He is the leader, but he's very down to earth. He is willing to admit his mistakes and tries not to repeat them. Therefore, his teammates respect him,' says school PE teacher Yung Chi-hang. Ambitions 'Our target is to win the Henderson Youth League. I want to devote more time to football after my HKDSE exam and play in the university league,' says Jerry.
