Cottage Vineyards will host a dinner on February 4 featuring wild game and French wine. The 10-wine, five-course meal at Chez Les Copains in Sai Kung includes pheasant mousse stuffed with morels, paired with the Frederic Lornet Arbois Pinot Noir 2006; and game duo (saddle of venison with winter fruits and slow-braised wild boar) with the Domaine Michel Juillot Mercurey Rouge Premier Cru 'Les Champs Martins' 2006, the Clos Cavenac Cotes du Marmandais 'Le Grand Cros' 2005, and Mas de l'Ecriture 'Les Pensees' AOC Coteaux du Languedoc 2005. Duetto in Wan Chai has an eight-course tasting menu priced at HK$518 plus 10 per cent for two. It starts with air-dried beef rolls and includes peri-peri prawns, mushroom espresso (left), and a choice for main course of linguine with clams, garlic and chilli or chicken saffron korma with garlic naan. The Mistral at the InterContinental Grand Stanford hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui has black truffles on the menu until the end of the month. The a la carte selection includes soft-poached organic egg with creamy polenta (above), hazelnut oil and black truffle shavings; handmade ravioli filled with cod fish and served with Jerusalem artichokes, cauliflower cream and black truffle; oven-roasted Tuscan pigeon with lightly smoked potatoes, Swiss chard and black truffle; and dessert of dark chocolate terrine with dried fruit compote and black truffle ice cream.
