A SOBER correction needs to be made to the claim by San Miguel's Managing Director in his letter (South China Morning Post, December 5), that San Miguel when reducing its beer can from 355ml to 330ml was simply following Coca-Cola's example.
Consumers can relax, because all Coca-Cola canned in Hong Kong, as it has been since 1980, continues to be served in a 355ml can (12 US fl oz) as well as in many other sizes of bottle or paper cup, to meet consumers' various preferences.
Nor do Swire Bottlers have any plans to reduce the size of Coca-Cola cans as we are determined to offer the same good value to consumers throughout Hong Kong's supermarkets, stores and eating places.
We will remain, however, avid readers of Lai See.
