A TEENAGER was tied up and robbed at knife-point after he had decided to sleep in his father's van because he was scared of coming home late, the High Court heard yesterday.
Sze Ting-wah and two accomplices bound 15-year-old Yu Tak-ho's hands and feet with wire after threatening him with beef knives in the early hours of the morning.
The youth did not want to go home because he had stayed out too late.
His attackers took him to his home at the nearby Shui Pin Wai Estate, Yuen Long, where they tied up his brother, Yu Tak-hing, 14, after brandishing a knife and punching him in the back.
As Sze guarded the boys, his accomplices tied up their parents, Yu Tai-shu and Surin Sae-Ue, with telephone wire.
Prosecutor William Lee said the gang ransacked the flat and left with cash, jewellery and electronic goods worth $10,940.
About eight hours later they struck again, tying up and blindfolding 14-year-old Lam Chun-kwok as he watched television at a Yuen Long hut.
