Men's Health Workouts Lite Free Rating 10/10
Men's Health magazine is a riveting read, even for a woman. The titles alone - 'Get in shape and lose that belly' and 'Are you tough enough for this workout?' - are fascinating. The tone of the app is equally sensational, with a choice of five workouts, such as 'Build New Muscle, Fast', or the 'Spartacus Workout'.
The latter utilises the same techniques that helped the cast of Spartacus: Blood & Sand 'drop their body fat into single digits', and with the 'NCAA Abs Workout' you 'steal the North Carolina Tar Heels' abs routine for instant results'.
There is a workout that is bound to be a winner in Hong Kong: the 'Crowded Gym' routine.
There are no training videos as there are with most such apps. But the workouts are well documented with step-by-step photos and descriptive text with quick tips. You are advised as to the number of reps and sets you should be doing. You can set a timer, and 'log a set', so you can build up a history of your workouts. You can also select workouts from an alphabetical listing or by body part.
Users are encouraged to choose a workout to achieve your desired goal - for example, building new muscle. There is no shortage of exercises to choose from, and that keeps the app interesting.
