Local hero

MORE proof that originality is alive and well in the local film industry. The top Canto comedy of the moment is one with the English title From 0 To Hero. A typical dollop of escapist fantasy, it's all about a frustrated cartoonist (David Wu) who realises the horny Superman character he has created is a bad influence on youngsters. When he gets zapped by a magic spell, he becomes a Superman who rights all wrongs.

Here's hoping it enjoys similar success to that of The Mask - the story of a downtrodden clerk who gets zapped by magic and assumes superheroic powers. The Mask, of course, was advertised with the slogan 'From zero to hero'.
