Hong Kong will continue to make use of recycling, incinerators and landfills to handle its waste.

Secretary for the Environment Edward Yau Tang-wah said that all three methods are needed for handling the amount of waste.
The city will continue to recycle more than half of its waste, he said.
Green Sense project manager Gribelle Ho Ka-po criticised the government's approach. 'The solution to the problem lies in reducing the amount of waste,' she said. '[That is something that] the government has not done well.'
