Taiwanese singer-dancer Show Luo Zhi-xiang certainly travels like pop royalty. To promote his new Mando-pop album, 9ood Show, the star boarded a hired jet on Friday to attend press conferences in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

The aircraft had been customised for Luo's promotional trip, which began in Taipei earlier in the day. Leopard print, the singer's favourite design motif, featured heavily in the interior, even down to the tableware.

'I'm not likely to buy [a private jet],' he said at the airport after landing in Hong Kong. 'My dream is really to treat my colleagues, friends and relatives to a leisurely trip [on a jet] when I have holidays.'

Luo received a crystal-studded model plane in Taipei, a Ducati motorbike in Hong Kong and hopped aboard a luxury yacht in Shanghai for a view of the Bund, all paid for by his record label, Gold Typhoon Entertainment.

For his ninth studio album, Luo had costumes designed by Nicola Formichetti, who has styled global stars including Lady Gaga.

Luo's soaring popularity has brought him stardom and also paparazzi attention. He said his strategy was to keep the peace with the photographers. 'I think we need to understand that there's a tough side to every career,' he said.
