Postgraduate Diploma in Investment Management HKUSPACE There are various courses on the market to help you obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. HKUSPACE offers added value via its postgraduate diploma in investment management which helps students gain CFA qualifications and offers a chance of a master's degree. The programme offers full coverage of the CFA syllabus to prepare students for examinations, plus the opportunity to connect to a finance master's programme at overseas universities. 'The course covers topics in the CFA exam such as debt investment and portfolio and financial management. On graduation, students can further their studies to earn a master of finance at overseas universities with subjects exemption,' says senior programme director Daniel Mok. Graduates may gain entry to the University of Michigan-Dearborn's master of science in finance programme, or the master of finance programme at Australia's Curtin University of Technology. 'Graduates can earn subject exemption from the programme which allows them to get a master's degree in a year to 18 months of studies,' explains Mok. The diploma is suited to finance industry workers. 'Fund managers, bankers, corporate finance managers, accountants and treasurers can all benefit from the course. The programme is a short cut to gaining a master's degree and a professional CFA qualification,' says Mok. Applicants need a recognised bachelor degree in a quantitative subject area of accounting, finance, maths or engineering. The diploma takes around one year, with lectures at evenings or weekends.
