RUNAWAY championship leading trainer Patrick Biancone is set to have his first runner abroad from his Sha Tin base, writes Lawrence Wadey. The Frenchman, who cut a victorious path through the top Group One races of Europe and North America when training in Chantilly in the eighties, will enter his Hermes Cup winner Bumper Star for Australia's top Group One mile handicap, the Doncaster at Randwick. Bumper Star completed a six-timer in the Hermes Cup, his fourth win from four starts since moving to Biancone after an acrimonious split between his owners and former trainer Tony P. H. Chan. The win stamped Bumper Star as one of the most improved horses in training. and Biancone confirmed at Happy Valley last night: 'I will enter Bumper Star for the Doncaster in the next few days. 'I was not so impressed by the Australian horses in the International Bowl this weekend so I feel that a race in Australia could be the best option for Bumper Star.'
